Navajo Santa welcomed the students of Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary of Monument Valley back to school on August 19. Each student received school supplies, a backpack and a school mascot sweatshirt. We provided the principal with a check for $2,000 to be used for needed programs, equipment or supplies.
We were fortunate to receive a generous grant from the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation which made all this possible. Long-time Navajo Santa Elves, Dr. Darrell and Marty Thomas presented a dental hygiene program and our friends from EyeCare4Kids offered free eye exams and hugs from See-more the bear for every student.
Navajo Santa Goes to School program aims to encourage student confidence and joy in learning. We wish the staff and students of Tse’Bii’Nidzisgai Elementary School a fantastic year ahead.
