Navajo Santa awarded a grant to Whitehorse High School to create a student Wellness Room. The Wellness Room opened in the Fall of 2021 and has been an important asset for students and faculty. The Wellness Room provides a safe environment for students who may be struggling or who just need a calm place to “chill out.” The Wellness Room is also used for meetings, including a drug abuse counsel group for students.
Historically, Navajo Santa’s Education Initiative grant has funded student field trips; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, field trips did not happen. In place of this, Whitehorse High School requested funds to purchase chairs, tables, couches, pillows, and equipment for a new Wellness Room. The Wellness Room design and furnishings needed to be inviting, comfortable, and a safe space.
Thank you to the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation and everyone who supports Navajo Santa.
