Our Navajo Santa school delivery to Bluff Elementary school went extremely well. Students were very excited to get back packs, sweatshirts and boxed school supplies and Principal Barbara Silversmith was grateful for the gift of a $2000 check. Bluff Elementary intends to use this gift for underfunded programs at the school.
Ken Garff Automotive Group donated a coffee maker, coffee, an ice maker and a microwave to the teacher’s break room and Eye Care 4 Kids and SeeMore the Bear were there to provide eye testing and prescriptions for glasses to those students in need. Darrell and Marty Thomas presented their entertaining dental hygiene lesson and each student received a toothbrush and toothpaste. Extra school supplies were boxed up for delivery to Aneth Community School.
Special Thanks to Ann Johnson who coordinated this wonderful effort, as well as Jill Hales, Vicky Hoagland, Kathy Kankainen, Mike Dahl, Julie Marple and as always our boots-on-the-ground Toni and Randall Dee.
After this successful visit to Bluff Elementary, Navajo Santa continued their work preparing for the family delivery in December by visiting and interviewing families and elders in the Aneth community that may need assistance.
Thanks to Patrick Juhlin for coordinating the interviews with two very capable and gracious Navajo guides from the Aneth Chapter. Three BIG Cheers to our Uber Elves: Dell and Debbie Phillips; Chris McHugh; Marty & Darrel Thomas; Steve Thompson and Webster Kankainen for all their help and assistance.
