Navajo Santa, in cooperation with Engineers Without Borders #EWB and The Bureau of Reclamation constructed the project known as the Jayi Canyon Spring Development from April 30 through May 9th.
The project focused on providing spring water to an extended Navajo family for irrigation and livestock. This involved installing a spring collection box and laying 4500 feet of 2” pipe from the spring to the points of use which included an orchard and two cultivated fields.
Participants included Navajo Santa (Dirs. – Eric Kankainen & Mike Dahl plus Elves -Travis Hales + 5 (plumbers team)), EWB (10 volunteers led by Chris Zawislak), and Bur of Rec (skidsteer + mini-excavator with operators). In addition to their team of volunteers, Navajo Santa funded the purchase of the materials. Thank you to American Express for their financial support.
