BLUFF, UT. — Our fourth Navajo Santa ’Goes to School’ program was held on Friday, September 14 at Bluff Elementry School. As in our previous three back to school events Navajo Santa pre-selected Bluff Elementary and worked with the administration to spend a day with the students handing out coats and backpacks filled with school supplies for the students of each class.

As in years past we've been fortunate to provide the students with eye examinations by Eye Care for Kids Foundation headed by Joseph Carbone and dental hygiene kits and dental presentation from Dr. Darrell Thomas DDS. 50 children were found to be in need of glasses and will be fitted and receive free eye glasses from Eye Care for Kids.

Following the examinations, presentation and give-away, the volunteers lunched with the children and Navajo Santa presented the Principal, Monique McDermott, with a $500 donation for a new sound system. “Visiting the students each autumn has been a highlight for us since we began this program,” says Ann Johnson of Navajo Santa, “The children are often the most in need of special attention and we are thrilled to provide what little we can to make their school year a little better”.
